Håvar Bauck is one of the two HotelOnline founders. He is a seasoned entrepreneur and business developer, with 20 years of experience from technology companies and startups in African markets.
Håvar founded Savanna Sunrise, the predecessor of HotelOnline together with Endre Opdal in 2014, a year after launching their massively successful joint hotel project, Nairobi Airport Hotel, in Syokimau, next to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. In 2017, Savanna Sunrise merged with a Polish competitor in a highly-publicized cross-border merger to become what is today known as HotelOnline.
His journey on the African continent started in 2002, when after graduating from college, he arrived in Kenya for what was supposed to be a one-year internship through AIESEC in cooperation with Norec. He stayed on afterwards, and has since also lived in Lagos and Kinshasa. He has visited half of the countries on the African continent. The other half is on his bucket list!
